The Asiad Games 2010 allowed India to get hold of 37 medals in all, with the number of gold, silver and bronze medals being 7, 12 and 18 respectively. On Sunday, India grasped two gold medals on the track and field events at Guangzhou.
The Asiad 2010 medal tally received a boost when Sudha Singh and Preeja Sreedharan won in the slots of 10,000m and 3000m, serving India in appreciating its ‘Gold Dream’. The Asiad Games have become a fervent show for the Indian athletes who have decided to grab as much Gold as possible.
At trap shooting in Men’s double event, Ranjan Sodhi gave India gold, boosting the number of gold medals. India received its Gold on 21st November too when Preeja surpassed others at 10,000 m. Preeja added Gold to the basket by her personal best performance which clocked 31.50.28 seconds.
Spectators were all praises for Preeja and believed that she was at her best. Sudha Singh also presented her best with a record time of 9.55.67 seconds.
With a total of 37 medals India stands at the seventh position. The first, second and third positions are grabbed by China, South Korea and Japan with the total medals being 314, 185 and 159 respectively.
