One more step taken by BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) to connect our villages and towns by the Internet. In this step BSNL came with a High Speed Wireless Broadband Service WIMAX using worldwide interoperability for microwave access technology.
This tech. will give up to 7 MBPS speed at distance of 15 Kms with the help of wireless broadband. It will give 1MBPS
sure download speed which is very good.
Motive of this BSNL WIMAX Broadband Service is setup an Internet hub in our villages by which villages can be connected by Internet and people can, not even use the Internet but they can also make online bill payment, Ticket Booking, and more.
Plans of BSNL WIMAX
As this scheme is for villages, price of using this service is also kept low as starting plans starts from 140 Rs per month.
In first step these services are launched for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh only. This service will be launched in metros and other all around the nation very soon.
This service will also increase level of Indian Broadband Services.

Is BSNL High Speed Wireless Broadband Service WIMAX is available in rajkot,gujrat…..????and if yes wht r the traff…???
i am from sirsi karnatka. In sirsi the bsnl have installed WIMAX many months before but not comissioned why.
