Champions League T20 2011 is slated to start from 23rd September 2011. The whole tournament is actually under joint administration of cricket boards of India, South Africa and Australia. This year in 2011, India will be playing host to the event. The international league will include 23 matches to be played during the span of September to October. The tournament even forms the past of Future Tour Programs which had been started by ICC some years back.
The Champions League Twenty20 will have 10 teams who will play against each other to win the trophy. After qualifying rounds, 3 more teams will be added into the main competition. Ten teams will play against each other to have a place in semi-finals and then the grand finale will be conducted. As T20 is a very fast paced game, none of the teams can be considered as “favorites”. Every squad has sure fire chances to defeat the others.
The top club teams from Australia, South Africa and India will play it out in preliminary rounds. Then the remaining 3 squads will get decided after qualifier match between the teams from New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, India and Caribbean.
