The entire ambiance seems filled with certain ecstasy while people seem cheerful as the festival has brought opportunities of happiness. Goods shops are congested with countless customers purchasing various golden and silvery items to mark the festival of wealth. Places from small and medium to bigger size shopping malls and department stores experience influx of shoppers during dhanteras, irrespective to inflationary market situation in India.
People are engaged in buying household products especially golden and silver made products as the festival of Dhanteras marks purchasing of at least any golden or sliver made products. Those who can’t purchase such items, purchase at least any utensils to celebrate dhanteras.
To mark the festival with fervor, people send dhanteras SMS including Diwali SMS to their relatives to exchange greetings of the festivals. They also make phone calls to their friends and relatives to give verbal greetings about the festival. For the net-geeks, dhanteras comes as an opportunity to e-mail friends, nears and dears including relatives living in a foreign lands.
