On Saturday, 27th March, 2010 the world will celebrate Earth Hour by switching off all lights and electrical appliances from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The world will be in dark for one hour to show their unity as they come together for the cause of energy conservation and climatic changes.
The Earth Hour is an initiative that has been taken by World Wide Fund for Nature on a global level and it is done with the aim of showing that people all over the world are genuinely concerned about the changes in the climate and this should be taken as priority by those who formulate policies. 92 countries will observe the Earth Hour on Saturday. All private and public buildings will turn off the lights. Last year 88 countries had participated in the Earth Hour. This is celebrated every year a week after the vertical equinox.
