Engineer’s Day Celebrated in all over India

Every year, 15th September is celebrated with much gaiety and joy as Engineer’s Day in India. This day is celebrated in honor of birth of the popular Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya, who served as an excellent Indian statesman and engineer. This great personality was born in the Muddenahalli village in Kolar District of Karnataka in Mysore.

Apart from being the Ayurvedic practitioner, Sir M.V.’s father, Srinivasa Sastry was actually a great Sanskrit scholar.  Sir M.V. completed his schooling from Chikballapur and then high school from Bangalore.

Then he completed his graduation from Madras University in the year 1881 and studied the field of civil engineering at Pune College of Science, which is now popularly called as the College of Engineering, Pune.

Engineers Day Engineer’s Day Celebrated in all over IndiaHe is even the proud recipient of Indian Republic’s the Bharat Ratna in the year 1955. He was also knighted as Commander of Indian Empire by the famous King George V due to his excellent contributions to public welfare.

In all, Engineer’s Day is even celebrated to honor and salute the engineers and their hard work and spirit.
