Facebook has put on one side on a “temporary basis” its plan to let the applications access users’ personal information such as home address and mobile numbers. The announcement was made by the company on its developer blog. The Facebook had unveiled that it would permit apps to plead for those bits of info.
However, Facebook’s Douglas Purdy wrote on the blog, “our plans got iced when we got some useful feedback that we could make people more clearly aware of when they are granting access to this data.” Purdy also wrote, “We are making changes to help ensure you only share this information when you intend to do so.”
Though Facebook has not mentioned any definite date when this feature will be completely executed but it said this would be leveled “in the next few weeks”. Facebook immobilized the sharing of mobile number of addresses depending upon the feedback.
On the Facebook blog, it was written, “We agree and we are making changes to help ensure you only share this information (address and mobile number) when you intend to do so. We will be working to launch these updates as soon as possible, and will be temporarily disabling this feature until those changes are ready.”
