Till now the endeavors on the part of Google to inculcate its services with the social elements have remained uninspiring. The popular social network of Google, Orkut, has been now confined to Brazil after having faced tough blow by the social giant, Facebook.
This year, Google has aspirations of introducing more social offerings and the latest efforts display its seriousness about social connectivity. Google is trying to impregnate its search with the social touch.
On Thursday, Google unveiled that it will blend the social content with its algorithmically determined search results. This social content includes friends’ posts to various networks such as Flickr, YouTube and alike. This means that in case your friends tweet about their favorite rock star as Bryan Adams, then your search results for favorite rock star might include your friends’ postings as well!
Google is also laying emphasis on the search results which have been shared as links on services. This means that if your friend has tweeted about a video, then your search results might add info about that tweet and inclusion of that video.
Google has nevertheless made it clear that it will be inviting users to link identities at various web services. As of now, these changes will be visible only in English. These changes might become common in coming week so that users can have a social experience before they login their Google accounts.
