Hum Tum aur Ghost Story and Movie Review
The movie is a romance with a twist. Arman and Gehna (played by Dia Mirza and Arshard Warsi) is an urban couple deeply in love. They go through their lives with the normal ups and downs. Arman has a drinking problem which is the cause of most strives between them. But then that is not the only problem. Arman also seems to hear voices in his head and counselling the psychiatrist does not seem to work. He is finally convinced that he can communicate with dead souls who have not made the finally journey and something holds them back on the earth, like a last wish or something. The rest that follows is total mayhem and how he finally manages to cope with the situation. Boman Irani makes for a completely harmless ghost who needs Arman’s help to complete work that the ghost could not.
The movie has its moments. It has a good dollop of comedy with some heart touching moments. But still the movie lacks due to the screenplay of the movie. It does not have coherence and the scenes do not merge with one another. There are some very nice performances by the lead characters of the movie. Arshard warsi is very good in the first half of the movie but towards the end of the movie begins to ham. Dia mirza and Sandhya mridul are refreshing. The soundtrack has nothing much to offer. The movie can be very good for a DVD collection.
