Yesterday, India stole the show with maverick batting order from Harbhajan Singh, today, the Kiwi players after losing two wickets shortly yesterday on just 69, came with a bang with its ace player Jesse Ryder (103) with Kane Williamson (87) whose jointly efforts in 194-run partnership led New Zeeland to a psychologically respectable 331 for the loss of five wickets in the third day of first test series in Sardar Patel Stadium at Ahmadabad.
In what seemed earlier to be a daunting task for Kiwi players to score a respectable run after losing two wickets shortly, the run partnership between Ryder and Kane enabled New Zeeland to respectable 331 in response to India’s whopping 487.
Ryder showed his batting skills by smashing several eye-catching shots while inching forward to his third test hundred. He couldn’t suppress his desire of showing exuberance after hitting Sreesanth’s delivery in today’s dramatic final over.
With this run score, New Zeeland is 156 run behind India with its remaining five wickets in hand.
Indian leg spinner PP Ojha took two wickets while Harbhajan Singh, Zaaher Khan and Sreesanth claimed one wicket each.
The conclusion of the match seems to be going to a draw end considering the continuity of the match; but with cricket’s being game of uncertainty, nothing can be predicted prematurely as there are still two days to go.
