India became no 1 team again by Beating Sri Lanka in Compaq Cup Final

Team India again became no 1 team after beating Sri Lanka in the Compaq Cup Final. After a shameful defeat in last match of Compaq cup against Sri Lanka, India back again with bang and beaten Sri Lanka in the Finals by 46 runs.

It was a nail biting match and Sri Lanka gave very tough fight even after a very big target of 320 to chase. With the help of brilliant knock of 138 runs from 133 balls by Sachin Tendulkar, it was his 44^th One day Hundred and some strong hits by MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh 56 Runs each India managed to reach massive total of 319 Runs in 50 Overs.

It is to be noticed that India has a very poor history of winning Finals. It’s a sad fact that India could only manage to win 2 Finals out of 21 Finals in last 10 years. This Fact once seemed to be true again when Sanath Jaysurya and Dilshan Tilakratne started Lanka inns with some great hits. Sri Lanka reached 50 runs mark in just 37 balls and then next 50 also came in 39 balls, but due to continuous fall of wickets Sri Lanka lost their 5 crucial wickets at 131 Runs. Then match was looking in favor of India when Sri Lanka caption Kumara Sangakara got out in strange way. He could not control his bat and that fell of wicket.

Once again Thilina Kandamby and Chamara Kapugedera gave hopes with their powerful hits and a good partenership of 70 Runs. Finally Suresh Raina gets rid of this partnership by getting Chamara Kapugedera out caught behind the wicket by Dhoni.

Harbhajan Singh came with golden ball and pick Kandamby and Lasith Malinga in 2 balls.

Finally Harbhajan Singh took 10^th wicket of Sri lanka and India won by 46 Runs. It was one more 5 wicket hall from Harbhajan Singh.
