India again renewed the hopes of maiden Test series victory in South Africa when it completed the 87 run lead in second test in Durban. The triumph, completed in 4 days made certain that the two teams will start their New Year’s Test at Cape Town with equal score in their kitty.
Chasing 303 runs to win test match as well as the series, the South Africans were out for 25 runs and fell short of 87 runs. This amazing triumph was scripted by great bowling by S Sreesanth, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh. The actual hero of second innings was Sreesanth who got crucial wickets of Jacques Kallis, Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith.
M.S. Dhoni also acknowledged contribution of Zaheer Khan and reported that Khan is the best fast bowler in the Indian team. He further added that Zaheer Khan is really great at executing plans and comes up with his Plan B when some plan does not seem to work. The skipper was happy to have Khan in his team.
In first innings, Harbhajan Singh bowled exceptionally well and worked well with Zaheer in order to bring the team back in the match and the series. He secured 4 wickets in 1st innings and in the 2nd, he got to send 2 opponents to the pavilion thereby paving way for the amazing victory of the Indian team.
