The Indian Team for the first test match against SA has been declared. The details are as follows.
For the India Vs Aus test series, the Indian test squad comprises of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain),Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Murali Vijay, Sachin Tendulkar, Vangipurappu Laxman, Subramaniam Badrinath, , Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Sudeep Tyagi, Pragyan Ojha, Abhimanyu Mithun, Wriddhiman Saha.
Now comes the turn of views of this action. I feel the selection board has played perhaps a cruel joke on the Indians. Saha’s performances have not been good in the recent Ranji Trophy, but he was selected while quality players like Suresh Raina and Manish Pandey were not selected. Wasim Jaffer who recently scored 634 Ranji Trophy runs was also omitted. It seems like the board wanted to try new faces instead of the already proven ones. In that case I support the action too. Let’s just hope that the new Indian test team clicks.
