One of the movies that represents the new generation of Bollywood cinemas, Love, Sex Aur Dhokha is a complete deviation from the stereotype Bollywood movies which deal more with fantasy and imagination. Revolving around 3 sub plots interconnected with each other by the common theme of voyeurism, this movie has already been hailed by critics as innovative and path breaking.
Love, Sex aur Dhokha as the title suggests involves some level of vulgarity and scandal but that is not a cheap trick to attract crowds, rather an absolute necessity of the mature plot that shows the way technology advancement has deprived people of any sort of privacy. The director of the movie, Dibakar Banerjee has been able to surprise the audience by trying out something different from his previous work. What is more laudable is the way he has been able to handle the delicate subject.
One of the other innovations of the movie is the camera work. Although, it robs the viewers of some comfort, with its shakiness, it was essential as one of the main ingredients of a movie where hidden cameras were also a subject of focus. Cameras placed in shops, handy cams and underwater spy cameras add bits and pieces to the story showing how one can never really feel safe from the public eye.
The music too has been experimental and adds to the effects. Performances of relatively young actors have already received critical acclaim. The fresh faces, fresh concept and fresh style of shooting definitely add to the charm of the movie.
