Padma Awards 2010 for Republic Day

Congrats everyone. Finally the Republic Day of India has arrived. This is the 60^th Republic Day and no matter what we say or feel, we should remain patriotic in our hearts. So it time for the Republic Day wishes and Republic Day greetings too. Well now let’s come to the topic. The Govt. had announced the list of names nominated for various awards like the Padma awards which comprise of the Padmashree Award, Padma Bhusan and Padma Vibhusan awards. Te list was announced on the eve of Republic Day.

Bollywood star Aamir Khan is going to be honored with the Padma Bhushan , the 3^rd highest civilian honor.

Next various business and industry leaders have been nominated for civilian honors too. Apollo group chairman Prathap Chandra Reddy has been selected for the Padma Vibhusan while DLF’s KP Singh, Unilever’s Manvinder Singh Banga and Leela group’s CP Krishnan Nair, Banker N Vaghul and Vardhaman group’s SP Oswal received the Padma Bhushan.

The recipients of Padma Shri are Nagarjuna’s Group AV Nagarjuna Group’s AV Satyanarayana Raj, Bahrain-based entrepreneur BR Pillai, Moser Baer’s Deepak Puri and Mirza Tanners’ Irshad Mirza, Mohan Meakins’ Kapil Mohan, Nirma group’s Karsanbhai Khodidas Patel, noted chartered accountant TN Manoharan and TVS group’s Venu Srinivasan.

This year, President Pratibha Patil approved nearly 130 awards including 6 Padma Vibhushans, 43 Padma Bhushans and 81 Padma Shris.
