Sri Lanka at last rounded off clearly their perfect win in the day five of first Test against the Indian team with a 10 wicket victory. The match was played at Galle and Sri Lankans took the 1-0 lead in this series. The last day of the series was already a great event for the Lankans with their great player Muttiah Muralitharan being the very first bowler in the Test Cricket who scalped 800 wickets.

On the other hand, the Indian team was in a shock and collapse when their batsmen like VVS Laxman scored just a half century. Also, Ishant Sharma avoided the innings defeat. Muralitharan had his last appearance at this match as he had already declared earlier that we would retire after this match.

Tharanga Paranavitana and Tillakartne Dilshan were actually unbeaten at 23 and 68 respectively in order to help their Lankan team register their 7th 10 wickets victory in the Test cricket. With 96 runs to be the target for a win, the Sri Lankan team openers were engrossed in the match after the teatime and made their victory really possible.
