The much awaited 15 member Indian team squad for the first two One Day International matches has been announced in Chennai. The team is as follows: MS Dhoni (capt/wk), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam
Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Sudeep Tyagi, Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Abhishek Nayar. This India vs. Australia 2009 Series will be very crucial for both teams.
Rahul Dravid has been unsurprisingly dropped from the team after he’s been struggling to find form in the ODI format for nearly 3 years. All rounder Yusuf Pathan and pace bowlers Ishant Sharma and RP Singh have been dropped from the side as well after their poor show in almost all of India’s Champions Trophy matches. They are replaced by uncapped fast bowler Sudeep Tyagi and all rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
A sigh of relief to the fans is that veteran opening batsman Virender Sehwag and middle order player & vice captain Yuvraj Singh are back in the side after having recovered from their respective injuries. The batting lineup has once again become formidable due to this change but only time will tell how well the inexperienced bowling department will contribute in this crucial series
